But Her Son’s Final Words Left Her Frozen

My son’s bride insisted on a strictly vegan menu for their entire wedding. No exceptions. No compromises. She brushed off our concerns, rolled her eyes at our traditions, and acted like we were uncivilized for being “big meat eaters.”

Fine. Her wedding, her rules.

But the way she spoke to us?
The way she dismissed our family?
The way she made everything about her?

That’s what pushed me.

So—without telling her—I quietly hired a second caterer. A full BBQ setup outside, tucked behind the venue. Ribs, brisket, chicken, everything she banned.

When guests got hungry, they wandered out… and the smell did the rest.

Half the wedding ended up by the grills. People were laughing, eating, actually enjoying themselves. My new daughter-in-law? She was shocked, furious, speechless.

At the end of the night, she stormed off to “cool down.”

My son walked up to me with a smirk he was clearly trying to hide.

“Mum,” he said quietly, “this is the moment I realized something…”

I held my breath.

He leaned in and whispered the words that made my stomach drop:

“This is the woman I chose to marry… and now I’m not sure I chose right.”

And that’s when everything changed.
